BW found himself down 3-5 in the 1st with RB serving for the set! RB is unable to hold service, allowing BW to get a foothold to strike back from. This was indeed the turning point in the match! RB had BW on the ropes, but fails to knock him out! All of the sudden there was a noticeable momentum change. BW breaks RB's serve to close to 4-5, then convincingly holds his own to level the set at 5-all. BW's wave of confidence continues to build taking the lead 6-5. Now in a clear market reversal - BW is serving for the set, but double-faults on set-point! This was only a temporary setback as BW closes the set 7-5. A convincing unanswered run from a 3-5 deficit!
Having been so close to winning the 1st, RB's demeanor is lacking motivation from the beginning of the 2nd onward. RB's service game melts down. R|B's frustration is evident, as he can only muster 1-game in the whole 2nd set. BW easily takes the 2nd-set, and with it the match. BW wins 7-5, 6-1. BW advances to take on AJ, while R|B stands eliminated from 2010 competition. Thanks for playing RB! You show a lot of promise, hope to see you in the tournament next year!

CG advances to Semi-Finals!
Harmon Park
August 30, 2010
By Steve England - as reported to by AJ.
In his first year as a TowerTennis Rookie - CG astonishingly tops everyone in his way. He now stands just one match away from playing in the TowerTennis Championship Match! Could a rookie possibly come from the bottom of the bracket to take it all? Soon we'll see, but first how did he get here: His match against AJ was one of both extremes and intensity! AJ easily won the 1st set 6-0. A blowout by any one's measure! Then CG turns it around by almost matching AJ's score, winning the 2nd set 6-1.
Now tied at one set all, a decisive 3rd set was embarked upon! AJ held the advantage three-times in the final set. Leading 5-3 and serving for the match, AJ allows CG to break his serve then holds his own to level the match at 5-all! AJ holds, going up 6-5, but CG can't be finished off! CG holds as well then forces a 3rd-set tie-breaker at 6-all! Once again AJ is inches from victory leading the tie-breaker 5-4, before CG takes 3 unanswered points to take the match! CG tops AJ 0-6, 6-1, 7-6(7-5)!!!

DNR edges BY
Waveland Tennis Complex
August 24, 2010
By Steve England
"BY" held a lead in each set, but DNR chipped away until forcing a tie-breaker in the 1st. DNR edges past "BY" this 1st set 7-6 (7-4). Then in the 2nd DNR once again works from behind to nullify a "BY" lead to take the 2nd set 6-4.
"BY" reports that he played very well - never feeling better! This wasn't enough to keep former runner-up DNR down. DNR advances for a rematch against DR. While "BY" now stands eliminated from this year's competition.
