The Harmon courts were host to a high profile match in the Tower Tennis Tournament Wednesday, with SV taking on the four-time champion JT. With a slight breeze and temperatures in the mid 80's, both players traded games won in the first set, with SV eventually prevailing 6-4. Three times the play was delayed with net troubles, but was eventually fixed with help from BY, MM, and DH. JT roared back in the second set with a convincing 6-3 win, tying the match at one set each. The third set didn't go down without drama, with both players showing fatigue from the heat. This set had many back and forth exchanges with both players executing well placed shots to take the set to a 4-4 tie. SV mastered the drop shot, while JT showed off the effectiveness of a lob shot against a net rushing opponent. SV experienced leg cramps in the middle of the set, but overcame adversity to take the final two games to take the third set 6-4. Final Score: SV 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
