Both players played VERY well. JT' first service percentage was high. While JM's first percentage was lower, his first serves were deadly when they hit their mark.
The match was a lot of give 'n take. Neither player was quite able to overwhelm the other. That being said, JM's deadliest weapon today was his net game. JT did his very best to counter with some superb lobs and a few passing shots, but the smallest mistake was met with a winning net shot from JM.
JT had one ace and a few first serve winners. JM enjoyed three aces and several first serve winners. We were very closely matched and were both on top of our games. JM was simply the better man today. He played a superb match and today's win was well deserved. My hat's off to Jeff.
